Universitá Monte St Angelo Metro Station

CIG was involved from the earliest stages of the Università Monte Sant’Angelo Metro Station, working closely with artist Anish Kapoor and architect Amanda Levete. From concept development onward, we took responsibility for the engineering of the sculptural corten steel elements, translating complex geometries into buildable components while preserving the intended spatial and material expression.

The elements were digitally engineered, precisely cut, and carefully formed, then developed through a sectional build-up that included trial assembly to verify geometry, tolerances, and interfaces before shipment. After fabrication, the components were transported to Naples, where CIG provided on-site support during installation to ensure accurate alignment and assembly.

This early and continuous collaboration between artist, architect, and fabricator was key to delivering a result that balances architectural clarity with sculptural presence.
