Passage by Maha Mustafa was the winning competition proposal for Dag Hammarskjöld Square, forming the centerpiece of Malmö's new cultural city center. The sculpture consists of two weathering steel spirals that coil, twist, and intertwine before rising to a height of eight meters. Their flowing form suggests movement and transformation while inviting visitors to experience the surrounding public space from multiple perspectives.

CIG was responsible for the engineering, production, and pre-assembly of the sculpture. From the initial 3D production model and structural calculations to fabrication and trial assembly, our team translated the artist's vision into a buildable structure before it was transported to Sweden for installation.

Standing eight meters tall, Passage demonstrates how engineering precision and craftsmanship can transform an artistic concept into a lasting public landmark.
