The Martin Luther Church in Hainburg is a striking architectural work, conceived as a massive table with its roof supported by four steel columns. Its play of light and transparency is shaped by three winding skylights, which draw natural light deep into the interior and give the space a strong sense of openness.

The project’s complex geometry called for advanced shipbuilding techniques. CIG contributed to the realization of the self-supporting steel roof, made of 8 mm curved steel plates welded onto a frame and spanning a 23-ton load across a girder grid and four steel columns embedded in the prayer room’s concrete walls. CIG also helped realize the free-form bell tower, which rises 20 meters high and is precisely welded to the concrete foundation.

CIG was responsible for the engineering, production, pre-fabrication, and installation of the roof. The project reflects the combination of technical precision and craftsmanship required to translate complex architecture into built form.
